Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identification and ensure safety during specimen collection.
• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens from patients of all ages.
• Label specimens correctly and resolve identification or requisition issues.
• Perform limited testing under CLIA guidelines.
• Answer calls, assist with inventory, and support billing and other functions.
• Process and transport specimens, including aliquoting and pre-analytical steps.
• Verify and document test requests; run quality controls.
• Enter laboratory results into the computer system.
• Instruct staff and students in phlebotomy and specimen processing.
• Demonstrate knowledge of age-appropriate care.
