Job summary

Aurora Health Care Oshkosh is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and specimen collection for newborn to adult patients, following CLIA guidelines and safety protocols. You will verify patient identity, label specimens, and enter results in the lab system.

The role requires basic computer skills, clear communication, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced lab setting. Hours are first shift, 20 per week, with a rotating weekend schedule and benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge and experience in phlebotomy or related laboratory function.
• Basic computer skills including experience using computer software applications.
• Keyboarding and typing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good listening skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Demonstrated customer service skills to interface effectively with physicians, patients, visitors, and other healthcare employees.

Responsibilities

• Verifies positive patient identification to ensure patient safety.
• Performs Venipuncture and collects specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients according to established protocol.
• Obtains specimens according to priority and scheduled draw times.
• Ensures specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing.
• Performs laboratory result entry in the computer system.
• Assists with inventory and maintains supplies and equipment.
