Job summary

Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, IA seeks a phlebotomist to perform blood collections in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will ensure correct patient identification, specimen labeling, and sample integrity while delivering courteous service and assisting training of new staff and students.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 2pm–6pm (20 hour FTE). Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and phlebotomy certification or equivalent on-the-job training; a supportive team environment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in phlebotomy or completion of an on-the-job training program.
• Experience as a phlebotomist in a regulated laboratory acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections accurately and professionally in a high paced area.
• Ensure correct patient identification and proper labeling of specimens.
• Maintain specimen integrity and safe work practices.
• Assist in training new staff and phlebotomy students.
• Demonstrate service excellence and teamwork with internal & external customers.
