Job summary

Adventist Health Delano is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to collect blood specimens and process samples within our busy Laboratory. You will handle pre-analytic tasks, ensure specimen integrity, and support registration and test entry in the lab information system.

This role is based in Delano, CA and requires relevant phlebotomy experience; CA CPTI certification is required where applicable. Full-time opportunities with a comprehensive benefits package are available.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required in CA; Preferred in OR and HI
Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
Experience in Phlebotomy in acute care environment: Preferred

Responsibilities

Collects blood specimens and handles a variety of sample types to prepare them for analysis.
Completes computerized tasks for patient registration and test entry in the lab information system.
Maintains inventory and records, monitors pending work, escalates priority tasks, and coordinates specimen recollections.
Verbally communicates released/reported results and routes reports to appropriate staff.
Receives calls for the laboratory and assists callers or transfers to the appropriate section; performs other duties as assigned.
