Job summary

Adventist Health Bakersfield is seeking a qualified Phlebotomist to collect blood specimens and ensure accurate handling and processing of samples. You will participate in pre-analytic and analytic workflows, maintain compliance with privacy and safety regulations, and support timely laboratory operations.

The role requires phlebotomy experience in acute care settings, appropriate CPTI/CPTII credentials as applicable, and a focus on high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience in acute care environment preferred.
• Current CPTI/CPT certifications as applicable by state.
• Basic patient care and safety procedures required.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.
• Receive, accessions and route specimens for testing.
• Enter test orders and patient registration in the lab system.
• Prepare and package specimens for transport; maintain specimen integrity.
