Job summary

Adventist Health Ukiah Valley is hiring a Laboratory Assistant for a full-time day shift. You will collect blood specimens, process them for testing, and manage pre-analytic/analytic workflows while adhering to privacy and safety regulations.

Responsibilities include registration and test entry, report distribution, inventory maintenance, and clear communication with staff and patients. Requires phlebotomy experience and BLS certification, with CA CPT/CPTI licensing as applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Education or GED required in CA; preferred in OR/HI.
• Associate's/Technical degree or related experience preferred.
• Experience in phlebotomy in an acute care environment preferred.
• Licensed CPT I required in CA; CPT preferred in OR/HI.
• Phlebotomy Tech CPT or CPTII and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens and handle/process specimens for testing.
• Complete computer tasks for patient registration and test entry.
• Manage laboratory workflow, monitor pending work, and escalate as needed.
• Distribute results, store/retrieve specimens, and assist callers.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and safe work area and documentation.
