Job summary

Adventist Health’s St. Helena Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to collect blood specimens and manage specimen handling in a fast-paced laboratory.

You will receive, access, and process specimens for testing, ensuring proper labeling and privacy in a compliant setting. The role requires CA licensure as CPTI or CPT/CPTII and a high school diploma or GED, with preferred associates or technical training and acute care phlebotomy experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required in CA.
• Associate’s/Technical degree or related experience preferred.
• Experience in phlebotomy in acute care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens and ensure proper patient prep.
• Process and route specimens to testing workflow.
• Maintain inventory and documentation of pre-analytic and analytic work.
• Communicate results and coordinate specimen transport.
• Adhere to regulations and safety in the lab.
