Job summary

Advocate Health in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a full-time phlebotomist for the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Lab: Outreach Services. You will adhere to hospital standards, collect blood specimens accurately, and ensure proper patient identification and sample handling in a busy laboratory environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED; one year of phlebotomy experience is preferred. The role involves weekday hours 8am–5pm with weekend rotation, and eligible benefits

Qualifications

• One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to the general Medical Center standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
• Assures accurate and timely collection of blood specimens, according to departmental practices.
• Assures accurate identification and delivery of patient samples to appropriate lab sections.
• Follows proper safety and identification procedures when dealing with patients and/or specimens under any circumstance or environment.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of phlebotomy by serving as a willing resource to staff and applying knowledge in daily routines.
