Job summary

STGi is seeking a qualified Phlebotomist/Laboratory Technician for a future opening in Sherman, Texas. The role supports patient specimen collection, accessioning, and front-desk duties within the clinic’s laboratory operations.

The candidate will perform venipuncture, capillary procedures, and related phlebotomy tasks in a compliant, patient-focused environment, with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited high school or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• Phlebotomy training program completion or recent phlebotomy work experience.
• Current phlebotomy certification and registration (ASCP PBT or AMT RPT).
• BLS/CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of phlebotomy duties including venipuncture, finger-stick, and heel-stick with proper techniques.
• Conduct patient in-processing, review accompanying paperwork, and provide guidance.
• Assemble and prepare equipment per test requirements.
• Verify patient identity and collect blood samples for testing and donor screening.
• Provide training/oversight to ensure safe, sanitary procedures and minimize patient discomfort.
• Handle front desk administrative tasks and maintain supply inventory and area cleanliness.
• Support non-phlebotomy clerical duties in clinic as needed.
• Educate on specimen collection requirements and special handling needs.
