Job summary

STGi seeks a Phlebotomist / Laboratory Technician to provide phlebotomy services and administrative support at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Texas. The role emphasizes accurate specimen collection, labeling, and adherence to SOPs.

Applicants should have a minimum of two years’ clinical phlebotomy experience and a current Phlebotomy Technician credential (ASCP or AMT), plus BLS/CPR. College degree is preferred; candidate must be able to perform front desk duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience.
• Current Phlebotomy Technician certification/registration (ASCP or AMT).
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and specimen handling.
• Experience counseling patients on procedures and reactions.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture, finger-stick, and other blood collection procedures.
• Prepare patient and paperwork; ensure proper accessioning and labeling.
• Assemble phlebotomy supplies and maintain front desk/lab area.
• Record patient identity and interview to alleviate anxiety.
• Provide front desk support and clerical duties as needed.
• Ensure safe and sanitary handling of specimens per SOPs.
