Job summary

Community Health Centers of the Central Coast is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform blood collection for laboratory testing under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. You will verify orders, maintain specimen integrity, and ensure accuracy in patient data and HIPAA compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of 2 years phlebotomy experience, California CPT licensure, and CPR. Travel is not described; a multi-tasking, compliant professional is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' phlebotomy experience in a clinical or laboratory setting.
• Current California phlebotomy licensure (CPT) is required.
• Current CPR (BLS) certification is required.
• Valid California Class C driver’s license is required.
• Must pass a criminal history background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and perform screening procedures.
• Verify test orders and patient identity in the EHR.
• Conduct standard tests such as blood draws and urine drug screening.
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic technique and proper handling.
• Enter data and process specimens (labeling, centrifuging, freezing).
• Collect therapeutic drug-monitoring samples and track specimens.
