Responsibilities

• Verify patient identification and monitor reactions to specimen collection.
• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens from all ages.
• Label specimens correctly and resolve identification issues.
• Perform limited CLIA-compliant testing per policies.
• Answer calls, assist with inventory, and support billing.
• Accept, sort, package, and track specimens for transport.
• Order and verify test requests; document information for QA.
• Train staff and students in phlebotomy and data entry.
• Provide age-appropriate care according to department standards.
