Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician for its Main Campus in Cleveland, Ohio. You will perform blood collection procedures, verify orders, label specimens, and ensure accurate processing while delivering compassionate care to patients of all ages.

This full‑time role requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, BLS certification, and phlebotomy experience. Travel within the enterprise and adherence to safety procedures are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of current phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience collecting blood from all patient populations.
  • BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross (upon hire or within six months).
  • Current, valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collection procedures and venipuncture; maintain logs.
  • Verify order requests and patient information prior to drawing blood.
  • Label specimens and deliver to processing area.
  • Perform specimen processing and send-out tasks (accessioning, centrifugation, packaging).
  • Pickup and deliver blood, samples, and lab supplies.
  • Travel to various locations within the enterprise.
  • Complete administrative paperwork and time/mileage logs.
  • Be flexible to work at assigned locations and hours; vary location daily.
  • Follow proper laboratory safety procedures.
