Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician (PRN) to join the Medical Laboratory Team. You will perform blood collection, verify orders, label specimens, and deliver them to processing areas while floating to multiple locations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and technical proficiency; preferred certifications include formal phlebotomy certification and a clinical rotation/externship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical proficiency with standard procedures, techniques and common practices.
• Formal phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited phlebotomy program with a clinical rotation/externship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collection procedures, venipuncture procedures and maintain appropriate log sheets.
• Verify order requests and identifying information prior to drawing blood or collecting the specimen/kit.
• Label all specimens collected and deliver them to the appropriate processing area.
• Perform specimen processing and send out tasks, including accessioning, centrifugation and packaging.
• Pick up and deliver blood, other sample types and lab supplies.
• Float to multiple locations.
