Responsibilities

1. Performs venipunctures, instructs patients on proper specimen collection, and performs non-technical and clerical functions related to specimen collection. Performs point of care (POC) testing at the bedside.
2. Collection of blood specimens using defined venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques, with status recorded in the Laboratory Information System.
3. Instructs patients in the collection of non-blood specimens.
4. Maintains cleanliness and supplies in the work area.
5. Communicates clearly with patients, physicians, and staff.

Minimum Education & Experience

• High School diploma or GED
• Entry level experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to read, write, hear, speak, and understand English

Shift Hours

• 11am - 7:30pm
• 12pm - 8:30pm
• 12:30pm - 9pm
• 1pm - 9:30pm
