Job summary

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or equivalent experience required.
• Ability to perform venipuncture on infants to adults.
• Attention to accuracy and federal billing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection as assigned.
• Receive specimens and place orders in LIS/HIS; ensure correct billing codes.
• Prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, immunohematology and chemistry analyses.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Provide information and assistance to clinicians, patients and colleagues.
• Suggest cost-saving ideas to support financial health.
• Adapt daily tasks to changing workflow and activity levels.
