Responsibilities

• Collects specimens from all age groups with minimal patient impact.
• Processes and allocates laboratory specimens and orders from all sources.
• Verifies patient and specimen identification and appropriateness of orders.
• Organizes workflow and prioritizes processing and distribution of specimens.
• Uses equipment, instruments and computer systems to test requests, accession, label, and deliver specimens.
• Performs maintenance and quality control on equipment and troubleshoots as needed.
• Trains new employees in theory and operations and serves as a resource for coworkers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
