Job summary

Concord Hospital is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant to perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages and support specimen processing. The role requires following safety and OSHA guidelines and collaborating with lab staff.

Under supervision, you will collect blood, prepare specimens for transport, and assist in maintaining a compliant, efficient processing area. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for compassionate patient interaction.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy training with a completed externship preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting, clinical support experience in specimen processing preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well with clients in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to perform in emergent or crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and processes venous and capillary blood samples required for laboratory analysis from patients of all ages upon request.
• Processes clinical specimens for delivery to laboratory departments and for pick-up by reference laboratories (when applicable).
• Performs all duties within assigned work blocks.
• Demonstrates compliance with corporate, departmental and job-specific requirements.
• Assists in the preventative maintenance and disinfection within the Specimen Processing area.
• Concord Site only: Travels to off-site locations for the purpose of phlebotomy collections.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
