Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks, and to assist with non-blood specimen collection. You will collect and process patient specimens, maintain a clean work area, and support laboratory operations on site.

The role may involve on-site responsibilities and potential student mentorship, following AHN guidelines. A high school diploma and phlebotomy training are required, with preference for some experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy training completed or equivalent.
• Six months of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on work location.

Responsibilities

• Collects and processes patient specimens per laboratory policies and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and adequate supplies for efficient operations.
• Perform laboratory support duties such as order entry and specimen receiving.
• May mentor students in phlebotomy following AHN policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
