Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy using standard techniques for venipunctures, heel sticks and finger sticks, and to provide instruction or assistance with the collection of non-blood specimens.

You will collect and process patient specimens, maintain a clean work area, support laboratory operations, and may mentor students in phlebotomy while complying with HIPAA and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Phlebotomy training.
• Six months’ phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Collects and processes patient specimens in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations.
• Performs laboratory support duties (e.g., order entry, registration, specimen receiving) to ensure efficient operations.
• May mentor students in phlebotomy utilizing AHN policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
