Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is the face of our company to patients, whether as part of their routine health visits or for critical health decisions. The PSR II draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and maintains a safe, professional, and confidential environment. Responsibilities include patient interaction, sample collection, documentation, and demonstrating leadership and process excellence. The role may be assigned to a doctor's office, patient service center, or as needed by the business.
- Perform daily activities accurately and timely under supervision.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens following established procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and labeling accuracy post-venipuncture.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment.
Job Requirements:
- Provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exhibit excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Be flexible and available for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Adhere to all policies, including dress code and safety procedures.
- Make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
- Have reliable transportation, a valid driver license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
- Travel and flexible hours are required to work at multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Demonstrate superior customer focus and open communication.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
- At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Preferably two years in a Patient Service Center environment.
- Experience in customer service in retail or service sectors preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
Additional Details:
- Reliable transportation to the worksite is essential; public transit is not considered reliable.
- Must be punctual, available for scheduled shifts, and stay for the entire shift.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may lead to termination.
- Verify commute time to ensure a 20-25 minute travel window.
