Penn Medicine is a leading academic medical center dedicated to patient care, research, and education. This role supports phlebotomy, registration, scheduling, and insurance verification for patients at the Ephrata, PA location, with full-time hours and a training period.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, CPR certification within 30 days, and at least one year of clerical or administrative experience; Epic EMR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification – American Heart Association BLS within 30 days of hire.
• One year of clerical, customer service, or administrative support experience.
• One year of basic keyboarding and PC use.
• Completion of educational requirements with yearly competency evaluation and training.

Responsabilités

• Provides complete patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and coordination of tests and services.
• Communicates effectively during high volumes or with complex patients; maintain competency in phlebotomy, EKG, holter monitoring, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection.
• Performs venipuncture and specimen collection; verifies patient identity and specimen requirements; documents steps in EMR systems.
• Handles patient registration for walk-ins, check-ins, and scheduled appointments; supports inbound/outbound calls and relays messages per protocol.
• Verifies insurance coverage and processes referrals; prepares and releases records and orders in the EMR; assists with coordination of care.
