Job summary

MAKO Medical is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to collect specimens in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will verify orders, perform data entry, and ensure accurate patient information while handling billing-related tasks as needed.

Responsibilities include labeling, processing, and documenting specimens, maintaining logs, and providing excellent customer service in collaboration with the lab team. This on-site role supports pediatric and geriatric collection and requires flexible availability.

• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.

• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
• Demonstrates superior customer focus and clear communication with peers, supervisors and patients.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and oral swabs.
• Research test/client information and verify all orders using lab technology systems or directory of services.
• Complete data entry for patient registration and test orders from requisitions or databases.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required, safeguarding assets and credit card information.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required by test order.
• Perform clerical duties such as data entry, inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Verify patient demographic info/initials and patient signature post-venipuncture to ensure proper labeling.
