Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Phlebotomy Program Coordinator to assist the supervisor with scheduling, training and assigning phlebotomists and other phlebotomy activities.

You will help develop and implement policies, prepare and maintain records and statistics, supervise clerical staff, and regularly perform the duties of phlebotomists.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certificate through NAACLS and/or completion of a phlebotomy certificate program with internship demonstrating 100 successful venipunctures.

Responsibilities

• Following policies, prepares staffing schedules for Phlebotomists for supervisor's approval.
• Prepares daily assignments for Phlebotomists and clerical staff.
• Trains new Phlebotomists and Medical Technologist students in venipuncture and fingerstick techniques.
• Regularly assists with phlebotomy of patients.
• Participates in interviewing and selection of Phlebotomists and provides input into performance appraisals.
• Maintains and records payroll, workload and program activities.
