Job summary

Virginia Oncology Associates is seeking a Lab Tech (Phlebotomist) for full-time, in-person work across Western Tidewater sites. The role involves collecting specimens, performing basic analyses, and maintaining thorough documentation.

Ideal candidates have at least a year of phlebotomy experience and are willing to travel between sites. Compensation ranges from $20.85 to $25.25 per hour, with standard benefits including medical, dental and vision, life insurance, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year phlebotomy experience strongly preferred.
• Must be willing to travel between sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens from patients as ordered and perform specimen analysis as directed.
• Assist with testing procedures.
• Maintain documentation including test report logs, quality control logs, and equipment records.
• Send specimens to reference labs for testing not done in-house and process incoming orders for lab testing.
• Update and file daily paperwork, lab logs, and maintenance logs.
• Operate designated laboratory equipment and perform routine instrument maintenance.
