Job summary

Virginia Oncology Associates in the Western Tidewater area of Hampton Roads is seeking a Lab Tech (Phlebotomist) to join our in-person team. You will collect specimens, perform routine chemistry, hematology, and immunology work as directed, and help maintain test records.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least one year of phlebotomy experience, with willingness to travel between sites as needed. We offer benefits and a compensation range of $20.85–$25.25 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year phlebotomy experience strongly preferred.
• Must be willing to travel between sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collect viable specimens from patients as ordered and perform analysis of chemistry, hematology, and immunology specimens as directed.
• Assist with testing procedures.
• Maintain documentation including test report logs, quality control logs, equipment records, and checklists.
• Send specimens to reference labs for testing not performed in-house and process incoming orders.
• Update and file daily paperwork, lab logs, and maintenance logs.
• Operate designated laboratory equipment and perform instrument maintenance.
