Job summary

Virginia Oncology Associates in Norfolk is seeking a Lab Tech (Phlebotomist) to collect specimens and support in-house chemistry, hematology, and immunology testing. This full-time, in-person role requires attention to quality control and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, processing, documentation, and coordinating with reference labs as needed. Candidates should have a high school diploma and phlebotomy experience, and be willing to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Collect viable specimens from patients as ordered and perform specimen analysis for chemistry, hematology, and immunology.
• Assist with testing procedures.
• Maintain documentation including test report logs, quality control logs, equipment records, and checklists.
• Send specimens to reference labs for testing not performed in-house; process incoming orders.
• Update and file daily paperwork, lab logs, and maintenance logs.
• Operate designated laboratory equipment and perform instrument maintenance as directed.
