Job summary

Virginia Oncology Associates is seeking a Lab Tech (Phlebotomist) to support our Western Tidewater offices. The role focuses on collecting specimens, performing basic analyses, and maintaining accurate lab records in a full-time, in-person setting in Hampton Roads.

The position requires a high school diploma, at least one year of phlebotomy experience, and willingness to travel between sites as needed. Compensation ranges hourly and is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year phlebotomy experience strongly preferred.
• Must be willing to travel between sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collect viable specimens from patients as ordered and perform specimen analysis of chemistry, hematology, and immunology as directed.
• Assist with testing procedures.
• Maintain documentation including test report logs, quality control logs, equipment records, and checklists.
• Send specimens to reference labs for testing not performed in-house and process incoming orders.
• Update and file all daily paperwork, lab logs, and maintenance logs.
• Operate designated laboratory equipment and perform instrument maintenance as indicated.
