Job summary

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of phlebotomy experience and a high school diploma or GED; phlebotomy certification is preferred where required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred where phlebotomy is assigned.
• Experience with venipuncture and specimen handling is expected.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood via venipuncture or capillary puncture.
• Processes laboratory specimens in a timely, accurate manner.
• Assists with patient registration and specimen transport.
• Provides phone support for patient care areas.
• Maintains competency with hospital and laboratory information systems.
• Trains new staff or students in standard procedures.
