Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy Technician II Certificate (CA) or Phlebotomy Technician I Certificate (CA) required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Willing to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.

Responsibilities

• Draws blood from patients by finger, heel, or vein, ensuring aseptic technique.
• Obtains the correct amount and type of specimen.
• Documents all requests and released results of lab work accurately.
• Informs physicians of released lab results.
• Completes routing, handling, and processing of various medical specimens.
• Orders, distributes and stocks supplies as needed.
• Trains and reports on the work performance of other Laboratory Assistants.
• Performs other related duties as necessary.

Education
