Job summary

The Lab Support Technician I (Phlebotomy) at Mercy provides essential laboratory support through specimen collection, processing, reporting, and administrative functions. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of probationary period.
• No active disciplinary actions or performance improvement plans.
• College coursework in Chemistry, Biology, or other science-related fields.
• Previous clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, label, process, transport, and refer laboratory specimens following established procedures.
• Assist with specimen processing and report management across laboratory specialty areas.
• Receive, distribute, and maintain laboratory reports as directed.
• Resolve billing issues as needed.
• Maintain specimen integrity and ensure compliance with confidentiality requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
