Job summary

Beacon Health System in Kalamazoo is seeking a Lab Support Specialist with responsibilities in specimen collection, processing, accessioning and related duties to ensure accurate test results and efficient laboratory operations.

You will perform venipuncture and non-blood specimen collection, handle paperwork, operate the laboratory information system, and assist with general office tasks while maintaining safety and QA/QC standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Phlebotomy training or experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection and handling to ensure accurate test results.
• Process and accession laboratory specimens and verify orders.
• Operate the laboratory information system and prepare labels/reports.
• Conduct venipuncture and non-blood specimen collection.
• Maintain QA/QC and safety standards in line with policy.
