Job summary

Beacon Health Options seeks a Laboratory Assistant to support specimen collection, processing, and clerical tasks in the lab. You will perform venipuncture, accession orders, and route specimens, ensuring accuracy and timely results.

You will operate the LIS, prepare labels, print reports, and maintain QA/QC under OSHA guidelines. Candidates should have a high school diploma and phlebotomy training or experience, with strong communication and data-entry skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; phlebotomy training preferred.
• Minimum one year patient care or general clerical experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills and accuracy in data entry.

Responsibilities

• Accessioning lab test requests and verifying accuracy.
• Perform venipuncture and non-blood specimen collection.
• Process specimens and route to appropriate lab sections.
• Operate LIS to print draw lists, labels, and reports.
• Maintain QA/QC and safety practices per OSHA.
• Provide general office support and answer inquiries.
