Job summary

The Medical Laboratory Assistant I at NorDx (MaineHealth) is responsible for pre-analytical tasks including specimen collection, phlebotomy, specimen processing, and order entry. This full-time day-shift role offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus and opportunities to grow within a supportive healthcare network.

Qualified applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, and a PBT/MLA certification from ASCP, AMT, or NHA is preferred. Some travel to other sites may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• PBT/MLA certification from ASCP/AMT/NHA preferred; valid driver’s license may be required.
• Technical training as a Phlebotomist or equivalent program required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-analytical duties: specimen collection and phlebotomy.
• Process specimens and enter orders accurately.
• Serve as liaison in patient settings and support lab operations.
