Job summary

MaineHealth's NorDx Laboratory is seeking qualified Medical Laboratory Assistant I to support patient care through phlebotomy, specimen processing, and accurate order entry. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available and prorated for part-time or per diem roles.

The role emphasizes professionalism in patient settings and requires HS diploma and phlebotomy training. Flexibility to travel to other MaineHealth sites may be needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• License/Certifications: PBT/MLA from ASCP, AMT, or NHA preferred; valid driver's license may be required.
• Experience: Technical phlebotomy training or equivalent program required.
• May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection and phlebotomy.
• Process specimens and enter orders.
• Serve as liaison in patient settings.
• Additional tasks as needed across sites.
