Job summary

rivhs in Newport News, Virginia is seeking a Phlebotomist/Processor to join our clinical team. Under the supervision of department leadership, you will perform routine blood collections and process specimens according to established SOPs.

You will explain procedures to patients and staff, maintain proper inventory, ensure accurate labeling and documentation, and support accreditation readiness (CAP, DNV, CLIA) as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• 1 year phlebotomy and specimen processing experience (preferred).
• Phlebotomy Technician (ASCP) or CPT (NHA) certification upon hire (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with physicians and office staff to meet patient needs.
• Maintains a safe environment by following RHS policies and safety guidelines.
• Demonstrates compliance with the laboratory QA/QI program.
• Performs duties accurately to ensure quality patient care.
• Ensures department maintains accreditation standards (CAP, DNV, CLIA).
