Southern Ohio Medical Center is seeking a Lab Technician Assistant for the Physician Office at the Ironton Family Health Center. The role involves performing venipunctures and specimen collection, electrocardiograms, and non-complex diagnostic testing under supervision.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma and BLS within 90 days. 3–6 months of lab experience and phlebotomy preferred. Full-time, 40 hrs/week, with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent
• BLS within 90 days of hire
• Basic chemistry and biology preferred
• Phlebotomy experience preferred
• Three to six months of laboratory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Identify patient and department, explain procedures
• Perform venipunctures and fingersticks on adults and children
• Follow safety and infection control policies
• Label and process specimens
• Centrifuge and aliquot specimens for testing
• Perform electrocardiograms and non-complex testing under supervision
• Prepare and transport specimens to labs
• Maintain clean work area and stock supplies
• Obtain patient demographics and consent for treatment
• Assist with clerical and computer tasks
• Participate in training of new staff
• Demonstrate professional demeanor and teamwork
