Job summary

HCA Florida Lake City Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist to collect specimens, process samples and support patient registration under supervision. Role involves venipuncture, specimen labeling, and adherence to regulatory procedures.

The position requires 2+ years of clerical experience in a clinical setting, basic phlebotomy certification, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment with a focus on accuracy and patient care.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience performing registration and clerical duties.
• Proficiency in peripheral specimen collection techniques and patient prep.
• Ability to follow safety, privacy and security guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens using venipuncture or fingerstick per protocol.
• Process and label specimens accurately and enter orders into the LIS.
• Assist with patient registration and maintain documentation and records.
• Educate patients about collection procedures and purpose of tests.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and support department workflow as needed.
