Mercy Health is seeking a Laboratory Support Services Supervisor - Phlebotomy at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. The role oversees daily lab operations and staff, ensuring accurate testing, timely reporting, and adherence to policies.

Leadership and a commitment to compassionate patient care are essential. Required: Associate’s degree in Medical Technology or related science, 5 years in a clinical lab, 3 years phlebotomy.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Medical Technology (required).
• 5 years of clinical laboratory experience (required).
• 3 years phlebotomy experience (required).
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (not required).
• Leadership experience in a customer service setting preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Hires and assists with onboarding top talent to foster diversity and professional growth.
• Evaluates competency of testing staff and ensures accurate, timely results.
• Ensures patient test results are reported only after corrective actions and proper system function.
• Participates in committees, task forces and improvement teams.
• Ensures laboratory changes are properly validated before implementation.
• Other duties as assigned.
