Job summary

The role includes processing and receiving specimens, entering outpatient orders into the Laboratory Information System, and supporting clerical duties. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, completed phlebotomy training, and a current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; formal phlebotomy training preferred.
• One year phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks to obtain blood samples.
• Identify patients and follow specimen collection procedures.
• Process and receive specimens into the laboratory per protocol.
• Enter outpatient orders into Laboratory Information System.
• Collect chain of custody drug screens as required.
• Assist with frozen sections and clerical duties as needed.
• Perform other related functions as assigned.
