Job summary

Emanate Health in West Covina, CA is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory Services team. Under supervision, you will perform venipunctures on adults and pediatric patients, assist in specimen processing and data entry, and address specimen concerns with clients as needed.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, California CPT certification, BLS, and 1–2 years of hospital lab experience or related phlebotomy skills. Strong communication and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and medical terminology required.
Two years acute care hospital laboratory experience preferred.
One to two years experience assisting in performing laboratory assays preferred.
Ability to operate computer input terminal.
Ability to perform phlebotomy techniques including blood cultures, finger and heel sticks.
Communication skills to include fluent English.
Typing and word processing skills required.
Excellent customer service skills required.
Current California CPT certificate; BLS required.

Responsibilities

Performs venipunctures on adults and pediatrics and micro collections on infants.
Participates in data entry, specimen processing and communicates with clients to help resolve specimen concerns as required.
Under supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services/Asst. Director/Supervising CLS, performs other duties as assigned.
