Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy Technician II or I Certificate (California) required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Draws blood from patients by finger, heel, or vein with aseptic technique.
• Collects correct specimen type and amount.
• Documents requests and released lab results accurately.
• Informs physicians of released results.
• Processes and routes lab specimens.
• Orders, distributes, and stocks supplies as needed.
• Trains and evaluates Laboratory Assistants.
• Performs other related duties as necessary.
• Supervisory responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
• Compliance with applicable laboratory regulations.
