Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital – Madison is seeking a Phlebotomy Lab Manager to oversee daily laboratory operations and lead a technical team in Madison, WI.

Under general direction, you will act as a technical advisor, ensure QA/QC compliance, manage staff scheduling, and coordinate resources to support patient care and laboratory goals. You will mentor staff, monitor performance, and collaborate with clinical departments to maintain quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience and education.
• Five years of technical experience in a laboratory setting including two years of supervisory experience.
• ASCP certifications or equivalent credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes daily workflow by coordinating and delegating daily technical operations.
• Manages projects of moderate to complex scope.
• Selects, schedules, and assigns staff, adjusting hours and shifts as necessary.
• Evaluates activities to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.
• Ensures compliance with QA/QC standards required by regulatory agencies.
• Monitors department financial performance and acts as a laboratory liaison to other departments.
