Job summary

Works under the supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services/Asst. Director and Supervising CLS. Performs venipunctures on adults and pediatrics and micro collection on infants.

Participates in data entry, specimen processing and communicates with clients to help resolve specimen concerns as required. Directs activity of phlebotomists during shift, under CLS supervisors, to include scheduling, training, daily workloads, staff and client problem resolution and supply inventory.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and medical/laboratory terminology.
• Two years acute care hospital laboratory experience preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to operate computer input terminal.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
