Job summary

Works under the supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services/Asst. Director and/or Supervising Clinical Laboratory Scientists. Performs venipunctures on adults and pediatrics and micro collection on infants.

Manages routine lab processes and data entry, communicating with clients to resolve specimen concerns as required. Directs phlebotomists during shift, including scheduling, training, daily workloads, staff and client problem resolution and supply inventory.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and terminology required.
• Two years acute care hospital laboratory experience preferred; leadership experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills; fluent English and positive interpersonal approach.
• Well-developed organizational skills and ability to take initiative.
• Delivering world-class health care one patient at a time.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures on adults and pediatrics and micro collection on infants.
• Performs routine laboratory processes and participates in data entry.
• Communicates with clients to help resolve specimen concerns as required.
