Job summary

The Medical Center of Aurora is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support specimen procurement, receipt and processing under the Laboratory Supervisor. You will collect blood specimens and provide quality service across neonates to geriatrics in a busy hospital laboratory.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, answering questions about specimen collection, coordinating with hospital departments and reference labs, and performing routine lab duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Experience in a hospital laboratory is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with specimen collection.
• Obtain blood specimens and ensure accurate labeling.
• Answer questions about specimen collection and time elements; interface with departments and labs.
• Perform general laboratory duties as assigned by supervisor.
