Job summary

Adventist Health Bakersfield is seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Technician to collect blood specimens and manage pre-analytic and analytic workflow in a busy hospital setting.

You will perform patient registration tasks, operate lab equipment, handle specimen transport, ensure compliance with regulations, and assist with reporting. Night shift, full-time, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent required in CA.
• Associate’s/Technical Degree preferred.
• Experience in Phlebotomy in acute care environment preferred.
• CPTI license required in CA; CPT/CPTII certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood specimens for a variety of laboratory tests and handles post-phlebotomy care.
• Receives, sorts and accesses specimens and assigns them to appropriate workflow.
• Performs computer tasks for patient registration, test order entry and label generation.
• Maintains inventory and records; monitors pending work and escalates priority items.
• Communicates results and routes reports; assists with specimen transport and processing.
