Job summary

Piedmont Macon Medical is seeking a flexible Phlebotomist to perform specimen collection and processing in a busy laboratory setting. This role involves venipuncture and preparation of blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and CMS/CLIA standards.

No prior experience is required, but one year in phlebotomy or EKG experience is preferred. Certifications are advantageous; hospital laboratory experience is a plus. Variable hours and weekend rotations are included.

Qualifications

• GED or higher required.
• No experience required.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience or EKG experience preferred.
• Healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.
• CPT - Phlebotomy Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and perform exempt screening and monitoring tests per CMS/CLIA OSHA standards.
• Perform venipunctures where applicable and prepare blood specimens.
• Assist technical staff with non-clinical tasks.
