Job summary

Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital & Clinics is seeking a Lab Assistant / Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. The role involves collecting, labeling, processing and distributing specimens for testing across all patient ages, with data entry and test management responsibilities.

Position is 1.0 FTE (80 hours every two weeks), primarily day shift with weekend rotation. A High School diploma is required; phlebotomy training is advantageous and BLS certification may be required per policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy program or related health care training is beneficial.
• Knowledge of laboratory standards/practices beneficial.
• EKG interpretation courses beneficial.
• Phlebotomy or health care experience beneficial.
• Computer experience beneficial.
• Customer service experience beneficial.
• Current BLS certification may need to be obtained; CPR training as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Collect, label, process, and distribute biological specimens for laboratory testing.
• Enter data into relevant computer programs; manage test cancellations/credits.
• Work under supervision following established policies and procedures.
• Primarily day shift with weekend rotation (1.0 FTE/80 hours every two weeks).
