Job summary

Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to provide general laboratory services, including specimen collection, order entry, and processing. Open 24 hours coverage is described for the lab, with a focus on accurate specimen handling and compassionate patient care. Full-time days at Ball Memorial Hospital are available.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program preferred.
• May require Indiana Operators license and good driving history.
• Strong computer skills and telephone etiquette requested.
• Excellent customer service and teamwork abilities desired.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens using venipuncture.
• Perform order entry and blood component preparation.
• Pre-analytic processing of specimens.
• Handle clerical tasks: entering orders, answering calls, managing faxes.
• Register patients and specimens; deliver specimens as needed.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and strong customer service.
